Keep Mangonui Ataahua

I think we should keep Mangonui ataahua by making favourable choices about waste.
First, we need to keep our area tidy by recycling, reusing  and putting rubbish in the bin instead of leading
it to the ocean. Doing this can save our sea life.
Quit using single use plastics. You must reuse anything possible such as reusable cups, containers, and
T-shirt bags. Single use plastics can be dangerous to sea life because when the plastic breaks down, fish will eat it,
and die.

You should recycle. Plastic can be made into cool things like sunglasses!. But single use plastics can
only be used once. After their one-time use there sent to the landfill. So T-shirt bags are a better way of
shopping than using single use plastic bags.

In conclusion, we must keep Mangonui clean and green. Nobody wants to swim in a sea full of dead fish
and plastic bags!

Mangonui Harbour

The harbour is as beautiful as a flower. I smell diesel covering all the harbour area. The trawler has just caught a lot of large Kahawai. Its boat’s engine is as loud as a lion! I see loads of fish below the water’s surface, swimming slowly through the beautiful ocean. The water is calm, clear, and cold as ice. I feel the the soft-as-a-pillow sand as I run along the coast.

My Map

One bright sunny morning,my mum and I jumped in the car and headed to Whangarei.  I was excited to try my sister Tania’s cooking, my cute nephew Caiden, and see what my brother-in-law Isaac was messing with down in the garage.

But as soon as we got there we had one problem.  Mum and I noticed that the lock on the door was broken!  So, we had to come up with a solution. I told Tania that we could use a piece of timber.
But, before we installed it, Isaac took me on a night trip to New World. Isaac bought some beer. But I got something even better! Some Sprite and a cookie! Why? Because Isaac said that if I didn't eat any junk food I was going to bed early!
After our trip, me and Isaac visited the garage. My brother-in-law Issac, showed me his K20 Honda motor he was working on.

Afterwards, I helped him fix the broken lock, we used some timber. Some time later, I went to bed. When I woke up, I went for another trip to Pak’ N’ Save. Me and Tania had eventually finished shopping.
 After our time at home,
our Mum had arrived...
2 days had passed, it was time to leave.

Rona

Centuries ago, at a time when there was no Four Square and no Pac-Man, there was a small village. There lived Rona, her partner and two sons. Rona was equipped  with eyes of emerald and hair of flowers. She was as beautiful as the ocean. Even though she was so beautiful, she had issues with her anger.
Rona’s partner was great at fishing. She wanted to prove to him that she was good as well.

This led to a huge argument, but after a while the partner soon gave in. OK OK, calm down… “It’s a great day for fishing tonight, The skies are as soft cotton!... You can take care of the Hangi”... Rona was as quick as lightning, in just fifteen  minutes, Rona had almost finished the Hangi, but soon realised she had run out of water. She had to head toward the closest lake possible but the moon hid behind a cloud. Rona crashed over a root. She flew through the air like a bird. Trip! “Ouch, Ouch!” exclaimed Rona. “Pokokohua!” “Boil your head!” The Marama heard this curse and swiftly snatched Rona from the ground… Rona’s partner and sons had arrived. “Look, up there, Rona!!” one of the sons cried” The two others had noticed… And that was the end of this story… Rona and the Moon.
