The harbour is as beautiful as a flower. I smell diesel covering all the harbour area. The trawler has just caught a lot of large Kahawai. Its boat’s engine is as loud as a lion! I see loads of fish below the water’s surface, swimming slowly through the beautiful ocean. The water is calm, clear, and cold as ice. I feel the the soft-as-a-pillow sand as I run along the coast. Welcome to Manuka whānau we are a class of year 6 and 7 at Oruaiti school in the Far North, NZ. Our teacher is Mrs Wihongi.

Mangonui Harbour

But as soon as we got there we had one problem. Mum and I noticed that the lock on the door was broken! So, we had to come up with a solution. I told Tania that we could use a piece of timber.
But, before we installed it, Isaac took me on a night trip to New World. Isaac bought some beer. But I got something even better! Some Sprite and a cookie! Why? Because Isaac said that if I didn't eat any junk food I was going to bed early!
After our trip, me and Isaac visited the garage. My brother-in-law Issac, showed me his K20 Honda motor he was working on.
Afterwards, I helped him fix the broken lock, we used some timber. Some time later, I went to bed. When I woke up, I went for another trip to Pak’ N’ Save. Me and Tania had eventually finished shopping.
After our time at home, our Mum had arrived...
2 days had passed, it was time to leave.
